The Big Lebowski is, quite simply, the greatest bowling-related movie of all time. This Coen Brothers film features an all-star cast highlighted by Jeff Bridges as Jeffrey Lebowski (or more appropriately, "The Dude"), John Goodman as Walter Sobchak, Steve Buschemi as Theodore Donald "Donny" Kerabatsos, Julianne Moore as Maude Lebowski, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Brandt. Also making appearances are John Turturro (Jesus Quintana) and Tara Reid (Bunny Lebowski). All give memorable performances, perhaps none moreso than Bridges as the movie's lead character.

The film itself didn't break any sales records at the box office, but has since become an undeniable cult classic; so much so that the movie spawned its own festival (Lebowski Fest, where fans gather each year to celebrate the film), book ("I'm a Lebowski, You're a Lebowski: Life, The Big Lebowski, and What Have You"), religion(!) (Dudeism, check here for more: http://www.dudeism.com/), and now, charity bowling tournament.

If you're a bowler of any frequency and you haven't seen this movie -- or even if you've never rolled -- please do yourself a favor and rent it today. You won't regret it.

Jeff Bridges, who played The Dude in The Big Lebowski, is one of America's most accomplished actors with a career dating all the way back to the 1950's. Besides his aforementioned role as The Dude, Bridges has also starred in hit movies like Seabiscuit, The Vanishing, The Fisher King, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Starman, and Tron, amongst others. He's been nominated for four Oscars and three Golden Globes.

Last year, Mr. Bridges was kind enough to contribute an autographed bowling pin and a photobook of shots he took during the filming of The Big Lebowski to the tournament to be raffled off. We can't thank him enough for this wonderfully kind gesture!

We encourage you to check out his website, JeffBridges.com, for more information on his career:
