"The Dude Hates Cancer!" Charity Bowling Tournament just keeps on growing! Over 120 bowlers on 16 teams participated in the third annual TDHC event on Nov. 1st, 2008, raising over $5,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! The tournament has now grown every year since its inception in 2006.

By pretty much any measure, the third annual TDHC was the best tournament yet. The event produced higher scores than in either of the previous two tournaments, the after party at the Dawson Street Pub featured six excellent bands, the charity raffle included a wide selection of prizes from our generous local sponsors (linked below), and we even received a prize from The Dude himself, Jeff Bridges (who was kind enough to contribute an autographed bowling pin and a photobook of shots taken during the making of "The Big Lebowski"). Not to mention there were some outstanding team and individual costumes in celebration of Halloween weekend!

Congratulations to the tournament winners, "Nuclear Strike," who put on a bowling clinic the likes of which have never been seen in this tournament's 3-year history. And while they set a new record, their two-game score of 1598 just narrowly edged out another outstanding performance by "Dave Storch is the Sexiest Man Alive!," who scored 1543 over two games and finished second. Also congratulations to our top male and female bowlers for the day -- Giacomo Ciminello of "Nuclear Strike," who bowled a 210, and Maria Cruz of "Dave Storch...," who bowled a 193. Excellent rounds by any standard!

Special thanks go out to the local sponsors, Mr. Jeff Bridges, Ms. Meg Devine, the Maxwell family, Eric and Erin Sliwinski, Aaron and Clair Boczkowski, and the six bands who played the after party free of charge: Jeremy Hollis, Dan Rendine, Twirlin' Martha, Asher Kahn, Drink the Long Draught, and Electric Sex Power.

We hope to see everyone again in 2009!
